About Me
MSW, LCSW
Carlynn Schwalm
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Montana, and I’ve been providing therapy since 2020. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and couples in a variety of settings — from university counseling centers to community mental health agencies to private group practice. Before opening my own practice, I worked under the supervision of Julie Menanno, LMFT — author of Secure Love and the voice behind the well-known Instagram account @thesecurerelationship.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Walla Walla University and have continued to expand my training with specialized education in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), ADHD, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), multicultural counseling, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), among others.
I work with adolescents (13+), adults, college students, and couples, and I support clients facing a wide range of concerns — including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, addiction, identity exploration, and family-of-origin issues.
As a therapist, I’m warm, empathetic, and supportive — and I also believe in being transparent and direct when needed. I take a collaborative, down-to-earth approach. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, your strengths, and your hopes for change, and co-create a therapy plan that reflects your unique needs and values. I tailor my work to each individual, drawing from evidence-based practices like CBT, mindfulness, EFT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
Throughout our time together, I’ll regularly check in with you to make sure our work feels meaningful and aligned — both in terms of your goals and the therapeutic relationship itself. Your time matters, and I want you to feel that it’s being used intentionally.
I offer in-person sessions Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, with flexible scheduling options for those who need to meet outside traditional hours.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward healing — in a way that honors your full self.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
